Friday, June 7, 2002 a group of Pier Rats converged on the Rincon Sea Wall #2 to try out their luck. With a small Army of Pier Rats prepared to battle with monsters of the sea, seems as though those monsters of the sea had plans of their own and contacted Mother Nature. She was relentless in assuring that our weapons loaded with 4 to 8oz. of hot flying lead were swept away with Her Currents, she called in the Kelp Reinforcements to assist. Skinner was the only one to stand up to her and say enough is enough, he defiantly cast into her blowing winds, starred her currents down and dodged her Kelp reinforcements with expert precision, as a result he acquired the only catch of the night (at the Sea Wall), a small Shovel Nose. Being that this made ole Mother Nature even worse we retreated advanced in the opposite direction and regrouped, we decided to take her on from a different front and headed to Goleta to regroup and do battle again.

We arrive at Goleta and conducted a successful surprise attack on her. From here I will have to let each tell their own story and post their individual pics - SO STAY TUNED.

As for myself, two successful catches of small rock bass (very small, together they may make an entire fish) and one large Thorn Back that I never got up on the pier.

Since Skinner is a Lurker and not a Poster - He got the only catch at the Sea Wall, he was nailing rock and kelp bass at Goleta - nothing overly large but definitely had the highest fish count of anyone, heck he accomplished this in his first thirty minutes but kept going.
