3" Paddle tail Drop Shot Minnows. I have been rigging the curly tail version of the Ds minnow an interesting way lately with good results. 1.Spinning rod with 8lb braid. 2.Number 10 barrel swivel tied to braid 3.12 or 15lbs Floro leader about a foot. 4.Small brad nail in nose of bait 4.#2 Owner weedless wacky hook I hook the minnow in the top of its back wacky style. Normally I skip this bait since it so light it really looks like a fleeing minnow and skips well on spinning gear. Once it sinks a little I just pull the slack, stop and repeat. The minnows back looks broken as you pull it and the curly tail twirls at the same time When you stop it, the minnow flutters down like a dying shad. (This is just one way to rig this bait that you may not see many people doing) Since I haven't been fishing much I have been testing a bunch of my plastics out to improve my freshwater skills, but feel this would be beneficial to my saltwater buddies as well Dang I got to stop playing in the swimming pool and get out there!
