I fished this weekend with Dan (Greybite) and Rob on Dans clean 31 Bertrum "End of the line".We pulled out on sat morning to a zone I fished the week before in hopes of repeating the wide openness of seabass .When we arrived we spent an hour making squid and then set up shop for the afternoon.Dan was first to get bit on his g-loomis and 12lb test.I don't even own 12lb test, anyway he lands a nice 25 lb biscuit on this perch rig and were on the board.About 5pm the 80lb dropper gets hammered and Rob is doing battle, the fish made a nice first run then came to the boat pretty quick.Dan sticks it and boom a 61 x 31 hits the deck. What a slob.We did the high five dance then came to our senses and got some lines back out .The next morning we had a little snap at grey and wrapped up the trip with a nice run in.Thanks for the trip Dan.

That thing is as big as he is. Is that some kind of record on 12lbs? I want to go to the zone of wide openness, do I need to know anything more to find it than it is offshore & islands?
    I dig that bait tank/cutting board/drink holder.

WOW...that thing would exceed the weight limit on my skiff! HUGE!!
I'd have to tie it to the side "old man and the sea" style.
Good job guys, sounds like a great trip.
