Sometimes you feel good going in to a trip. David asked me if I wanted to go fishing, but I couldnt on the day he asked so I said what about the next day? Everything worked out, I called up my friend Rick and we all were set to meet at the Aloha. Met the boys at the landing, got the speech from Cory about we were gonna try for seabass. Hell yeah. I had a really good feeling about the day. Headed to the spot and when we arrived I had two rods rigged with jigs, two with leadheads, and one bass rod with a slider setup.
No love for a little bit, then got bit of course on the slider...Shawn and Cory made fun of me throughout my battle(and afterwards) as I went into panic mode trying to land the fish. About ten minutes later it hit the deck. A beautiful fat seabass. One other fish got caught at the same drift. A while later hooked up again on something huge but pulled the hook after about five minutes. By this time we were getting a pretty good pick and the fish were just getting bigger. I hooked up again and this time after another long fight I had him at color on the bass rod again. Cory stuck him and as he lifted the gaff pulled through the fish and fell back in the water and went under the boat. Stupid fish didnt realize I still had him hooked... After a few cranks he came back into gaff range and this time there was no escape...in the cooler.
The fishing got better from there. David got two, Rick got one. Two of the ladies whose names escape me caught absolute monsters, one of which could have been the womens IGFA record. What an absolute monster of a trip. I thank Shawn and Cory again for making another great trip for me and a super memorable trip for everyone on the boat. We got our limits and everyoneon the trip went home with a whole fish. The couple people who got two donated one to the couple who didn't catch any. Everyone went home with a heavy bag of fillets. Epic!

Try resizing your pictures to be smaller. I've seen this error pop up when doing too many at once of very large pictures.

    WSB..... nice work.
They seem to be every where, but you got to find them
first. They are constantly moving around, if they would just
cooperate and stick to a kelp like YT's life would be easier.
But that why they call it WSB fishing not WSB catching.
If this fishery keeps progressing like it has for the last couple of
years I could drastically reduce my monthly treck to Sand Diego for
    a Yellow Tail fix.

Again great work. It's all about the adventure. IF we wanted
fish we could all just go to the fish market.

Live bait is really the key to those fish on the drift by the Arch. Charter boats can get them with frozen/fresh dead because they're dumping squid overboard and the fish are frenzy eating.
Private boaters really want live, healthy squid.
