Best rig for stingrays?

    What is the ideal set up catching sting rays from pier?

    1/0 hooks J or circle hooks.
    Some times I use a trap rig.
    It all depends on the day.
    I switch it up every hour.

    Ya I have just used double dropper loop rigs with pyramid or torpedo weights to get them to stick to the bottom better. Squid for bait is best. As they are bottom feeders and will eat just about anything as long as you have something on the bottom you are good. Just need to wait from one to swim threw and find your bait. Sometimes you can cast out and to a slow retrieve like you would for halibut and scare one up that might be buried on the bottom. That way you might even get a halibut out of it too.

    Now I have to ask, why do you want to catch sting rays? Just curious is all.
