Just wondering if anyone's been out since the bug season opened, and if so, what your experiences were like? Whether this whole El nino thing was effecting the bug fishing etc.

Good luck getting any info on bugs here! Everybody is super quiet about that on this site! I tried getting the same info last season but I got crickets! Lol! Anyways! I heard they've been crawling pretty good everywhere!! Good luck!!

Both harbors in ventura county have been very crowded since the opener. Guys are getting a few, but between fighting with the seals and other boats, it's not easy.

    Venture away from the breakwalls.....
    Too much pressure.....too many idiots...
Lots of bugs to be caught on our local rock piles.....
Or venture to Santa Monica Bay where there is ZERO commercial pressure.....

Went out in end of October, limited out in 2 hours and at least 40 shorties. Channel Islands wall, friend been out every week and bugging is down. Ventura harbor shut down for now.
