Been taking a break from the saltwater and enjoying dialing in the new little bass boat I picked up a while back. The electronics are now officially worth more than the boat itself is. LOL

I went crazy when I got some smokin deals on a pair or Lowrance HDS units complete with side scan. The only downfall to this is I spend more time metering around checking out all the cool stuff instead of fishing.

Anyhow, today I promised myself that I would fish more and and play around with the electronics less.

    Here's how it went...

Got to the lake about 7, fished top water for a couple cookie cutter 2 pound bass as I waited for the sun to come up a bit.

    Netted me some of these...

And then I metered around a LITTLE bit and found me a nice point to fish that was lit up with all kinds of critters...

It was WFO for the next 4 hours. Every cast was a fish, literally. I was only using 6# test so it made it a pretty interesting fight when you hooked into a bigger model. If it wasn't a bass, it was a striper. If it wasn't a striper, it was a catfish...

The arms are a bit sore, I like it. :D

This big kitty took a while to get in....

    Size 12 sandal for comparison.

Dude you spanked em'. Nothing like fishing with the live shad when they're on it. A cast a fish, nice. HOOK UP!

Nice Joey! Congrats on the bass boat Be careful netting those shad though! I never knew there was a limit until I saw a guy getting a few tickets a few weeks back. He got one for the short striper and then one for being over the limit of shad in his cooler. I guess you can only have 25 per person. I always thought the limit was in pounds.
