Crab is going great when we can get out to check the pots. The waves have been relentless and the harbor is shoaled big time so you have to go at high tide. And now the Coast Guard and Port District has deemed it unsafe to go out and closed the harbor entrance no in or out access. So we had to trailer the boat 40 min. south to Moss Landing harbor to launch and then run back uphill to Santa Cruz 13 miles to retrieve our gear, but we had some big numbers with the best so far at 28 crab in one pot. So I am done for now until the Harbor reopens.

Those are 30" commercial style crab pots I purchased at fishermans warehouse years ago for around $100 bucks but you have to add 300' of lead core line they are ok but the crab can get out if one holds the door open. I have some McKay hexagon pots that are way better I think they come from Washington the crab can't get out.
