its made out of 16g aluminum and the whole thing only weighs 6lbs dry. Also the drain and fill tubes go through the scupper holes making itpretty streamlined.Im not sure Id want to bang into that thing on a rough surf landing though...Edited by: salmonslamer

Ya I did see that! It is awsome but a little overkill. I do sheetmetal work and I would never spend the time on that. I would take it for free[IMG]

    Hey Fishhead,

Not sure ifyou are serious about the battery?

If so, its a 12 volt gel cell batterry, judging by its size 7amp hr I think.

I picked one up at an independent electronics shop for $12. I think its a used one?The big guys, like Fry's also carry them new but, they want at least double that.

Walmart has the 900 GPH for 9 bucks that is the one I used in mine and keeps fin bait alive most of the day.

Thanks for the link fishhead. I need to work something out for my tank and the truck to keep the more of the baitfish alive. I also want to add lights and a little mesh dorr to keep the chovies in.

    Hey Fishhead,

I saw this tank on another kayak fishing site where there was more discussion about how this is set up.

This tank draws through one scupper hole an drains through the other, pretty sweet. However, somebody commented that covering both rear scuppers would crearted a problem withwater drainage in the rear well??
