drew why the hate? do you even like basketball? if so what is your team its not the lakers. haters will always be around no doubt if you like a team like denver and are hurt by the sweep fine but to hate just to hate thats wrong man. LAKERS maybe the best franschise in basket ball history? if not the best well its right up there with boston and you can argure chicago (jordan era)
I would agree if this were the Lakers of the past few years, but this years team is different. 1: Lakers now have a bench that produces. 2: The players all respect each other 3: They all know their roll In past years the laker bench was crap. Even the starters field goal percentage was weak. The only guy that you can count on was Kobe. When Kobe had an off night, the Lakers lost and Kobe was to blame. When Kobe had a great game, lakers lost and Kobe was to blame for being selfish. This year, Kobe has an off game, others step up and they win. When Kobe has a good game, the others helped to support that game and they win. Everyone is happy with each other. Everyone has a roll and everyone knows what they have to do. Im not saying that they wont choke, but I am saying that its not inevitable. Last year yeah, but this year.. I dont know. They look real good.
To dovetail previous responses... Lakers 9 Championships in Los Angeles 12 Runner-up 5 more Championships in Minneapolis 1 Runner-up Total: 14 Championships; 13 Runner-Ups 27 Finals appearances in 61 years: 44% I would not call that choking, but maybe I'm wrong... Celtics 16 Championships (none since 1985) 3 Runner-up 19 Finals appearances in 61 years: 31% Bulls Michael Jordan 6 Championships in 8 years (which would have likely been 8 if not for the murder of Michael's father and his temporary retirement.) In the history of the NBA no other team has been more consistently successful than the Lakers. One can argue that the original Boston Celtics dynasty made the greatest run of championships in history or that the Bulls of the 90's is the greatest modern-era dynasty behind 1 great player, but it goes without saying that Dr. Buss has developed the greatest franchise dynasty in history, repeatedly bringing in new talent to make a run at the title. Either way, I will still be a Lakers fan until the day I die even if they choke this year and every year for the rest of my life. (I just hope they don't fall apart when Dr. Buss is no longer running the show.) And no matter what... it won't take back the number of times they DIDN'T CHOKE! Let's go Lakers!
Sorry Dan I don't hate really. Was just being a smart a$$ that wasn't to smart. Sorry if I offended anyone I was just doing some ribbing that went the wrong way.
Anyone know the final score? I was watching, but had to change the channel to catch the final match of the 27th annual Zimbabwean Womens Badminton League Championship.
Sorry to hear that SoCal it was 98 Celtics 88 laker's. That badminton is a real addicting game to watch.
Lakers were brick masons in the fourth quarter. What channel was the badmitton on for future reference?
It was channel 102830 on my old school satellite dish. I tore down my garage and had the dish installed in its place specifically so I can track the East African Womens Badminton league. Totally worth it.
