Social Media has taken a bat to the site. Most of the regulars are going through there to set up fishing stuff. Sucks but sign of the times.
It's sad to see, but take solace in the Get Bent still played a huge part in bringing so many people close together that remain close through personal interaction and social media. I feel the same about my old site. I still pop in here and look from time to time, even though I'm way up in Minnesota now. I liked seeing what everyone was up to and what monsters from the abyss were being brought to the surface. Be well everyone.
You to and remember if you go fishing to post from time to time. I am making an effort to come around and hopefully more will follow. Good luck.
Genbent was the first forum that I took part in and had lots of fun and made some good friends. I am beginning to fish much less then I did those days, age is catching up. I see I am resurrecting a very old thread, I feel a bit nostalgic towards this site, and still have a brand new Getbent T shirt Am also not a great social media fan!
Wow I had been out of fishing for sometime and took me a while to remember the name of this board. Sad to see it's activity has dropped to nearly nothing. As others have said, sign of the times with social media and all.
I still pop in here to see if someone has revived the site... Nope. LOL. I still remember when I was member 85 of something like that... When we were SoCalSinker.com.
Was my first forum, met lots of great folks through the site. Moved on to Washington state, less and less fishing these days.
I know it is kind of sad. I guess with all of the other social media sites it has become obsolete. I check in every once in a while. I met a ton of great people on this site and had some great fishing trips!
I've been to hell and back since coming on here last. Hope everyone is well. I live in Indiana now and haven't had time to fish in forever but that's hopefully changing soon. My best to all of you!!
