Hit the #2 Seawall just North of Emma Woods at about 7:00pm for a little evening fishing tide was coming up so I thought I'd try my luck. My Fiance landed a couple barred perch using plastic grubs, nothing of size little small perch maybe a pound. I wasnt catching anything on the plastics so I decided to throw out a chunk of squid on my heavier rig. Immediately I was hit by a decent size barred surf perch the largest I've caught in a while. I casted out again for another perch smaller than the first. I continued to catch small surf perch throughout the evening. I did get a really hard strike, rod just about bent in half it was an awesome fight but as the fish was about 20 yards from the seawall my line busted. Not sure what was on the end of the line but talk about adrenaline rush. Didnt catch much after that except a little baby Leopard 8" in length. Threw him back and called it a night at around 9:00pm would have stayed later but there are signs everywhere stating no parking between 9:00pm and 6:00am didnt want to end my night with a ticket. I'll probably be back tomorrow evening depending on the weather, I hear we have a couple t-storms coming in.

    Doing it again

Thanks fellas for all the replies. When I submit a report I try to be detailed in hopes that my fellow fishermen can go to the same place and enjoy a day of good fishing.

Well, I was back at it yesterday 6/06 fishing slowed down tremendously. Fishies didnt want the squid this time, no love what so ever. I caught a couple of shovel nose on chovies, nothing big but still fun bringing them in. A whole bunch of seaweed out there which made fishing difficult along with the current acting a little screwy first my line would head South and next thing my line was heading North, kind of odd. I'll probably be out at the seawall on June 19th-21st tides are supposed to be back up again.

Also fyi got a call from a friend of mine who said his sons were fishing VTA harbor and landed a couple of decent sized WSB. I really dont have any detailed info though. As soon as I do I'll report it. Anyway TIGHT LINES!

    Damien
