This is the first time I've had an issue with this on the traditional screw down style rod clamps, the simple threaded ring with the metal hood that goes over the reel foot. I recently aquired an tika steelhead casting model 10' upon screwing down the reel tight I noticed the threaded ring was pushed at an angle opposite that of the reel (obviously from the upwards pressure of the reel foot hitting the back of the hood) in other words not inline with the blank.
if you could invision the reel behind the two slashes, this is how it would look after it was tightend down considerably. any ideas? anyone else own any rods that do this?? :dunno:

That happened to me on a custom rod with a no name graphite or plastic reel seat That I won in a raffle. Fortunately it was for a conventional reel so I just put a rod clamp on the reel and didn't tighten the clamp on the reel seat as tight. It worked fine for me. I hope this helps for you as well.
