Rod we are building for Rez(he's only got one fishing pole for Christsakes). It is a "909" blank. That's all it said on it. Pineapple donated the blank. I'm guessing it is an ATC or Shikari blank. Pretty light blank. So far not oo much done. Just got the handle built. Mary's got the underwraps done and the turkshead. The turkshead still needs to be tightened. The color scheme is going to be a native american pattern Rez sent us. Black, white, red and yellow. The center insert on the guide wraps is white, the inserts on the overwraps will be red and yellow. The pattern on the decorative wrap has yet to be fully decided, but most likely it is going to be something Mary has never done before and will share the colors of the guide scheme...Oh yeah, to tell you the truthI have Rez' other rod over here that we fixed a broken guide on. So that means he has no fishing pole..

Anyways, the turkshead is tightened...The guide wraps should be finished tonight. I'll post those when they are done. Rez, try to make sure you get a "cork puppy" for this rod when it is done. It is a thin blank and that cork puppy will save it from potentially getting damaged when you tighten down your reel.

Rez-My suggestion for this rod is the old stand by Avet MXJ. No M/C needed, but two speed is always nice...
Randy-Thanks. I think the guide wraps look nice, and Mary is doing a wrap that she hasn't done before for the decorative to kind of represent(loosely) a native american symbol of harmony that Rez sent us a pic of...Hopefully he won't be dissapointed because it is going to be an artistic interpretation through a crosswrap, not a literal translation such as a weave...

John...I dont care WHAT it looks like to be honest!! Im just greatful bro..Im sure you guys are gonna do a good job so no worries!!
I just wanted those colors in it..Each color represents the each race and the circle represents the world( with 4 directions)and the cross in the middle represents each race coming together its called a Medicine wheel..In my culture it brings good heath and luck..each direction and color also represents Elements of the earth and how they all combine to create harmony..just a little history behind whats above...thats just part of it though many tribes have different types and different translations but most are similar in meaning. Im Lakota and thats the basic meaning behind the Medince wheel for us...each direction has an animal too. Bear, Dear, eagle, Buffalo. feathers in the middle represent the prayers that are taken on an eagles wing to be answered.

Weaving of all of the colors would be a nice touch..It would be waay too hard to make that design of the medicine wheel so Im would be MORE than happy to have the a weave of them.
