Tomorrow I get to go fishing on the Brazos River below Lake Whitney. There are tons of bass and catfish on the river. Should be a fun trip.

I will post pics of the trip later.

Well, my buddy didn't disappoint this weekend. He has been fishing the Brazos River between Waco, Texas and Lake Whitney for about 30 years. He knows all the spots and all the deep catfish holes.

We caught about 15 largemouth bass ranging from 1/2 pound to 2 pounds. Most of these were caught on the Berkley plastic bait that looks like a perch. All of these were returned to the water to be caught another day.

We also caught a few rainbow perch on white plastic grubs. We used a couple of the small ones for bait.

The highlight was the catfish we caught. We released all the ones under 3 pounds, around 8 or 10 of that size. We kept 4 fish: 4 pound, 6 pound, 10 pound and 32 pounders.

We had a large time. Pics below

Three channel cats, and the big one is a yellow cat. The yellows get really big, I think the record is close to 60#.

Nice fish, it looks like your Dog is steering clear of that big yellow cat.

He is actually steering clear of me. I smacked him because he always bites them. Funny dog.

None lately. Too cold to fish around here. Its been in the 30's and even down to the teens a couple times. March will be here soon though.

    Good luck out there!
