Cobwebs on a boat, not a good thing. The 14'er hadn't seen use for a couple months so I dusted off the cobwebs and asked the boss for a pass on Sat.
Honda fired up first pull and it was on.
Grabbed some chovies and made a couple macs and headed for my neighborhood marks. Little slow, couple rocks here, couple bass there,
Then I saw what looked like a HUGE school of macs, but no love on the sabiki.
Then i thought, holy crap, ill bet its a school of bass, Yup, 1st drop I pull up my PB
almost 20" calico, SWEET. Felt like 10lbs but was probably 8+ at least.
Saw a big group of floating oil balls, not normal. No sheen on the water and the one group was the only one I saw.
Ended the day with a 1/2 inch short ling on the last drift as the wind came up.
Still need a kicker for the cabo, Ill be island bound soon.

Sorry bout the pic order. The first two pics are of the last time out on the cabo.
I forgot to post the pics of the most awesome 50 fish, 20 released with the descender, day on the water.

Good to see GBers on the water….

Nice fish but my biggest calico was 24.25 inches and it only went 6.39lbs.

NICE! I was wondering how much impact the spill was going to have.
