I wonder if a white skirted spinnerbait with a white curlytail body would work for salt water fish such as Kelp Bass. Seems to me that it might very well look like a squid with an extra bit of flash from the spinner....

I am also thinking that a buzz bait worked fast along the surface might entice fish that are surface biters....

One thing I have learned over the years, TRY EVERYTHING, you just never know what will work. Those sound like they might work well for White Seabass too.

I bet they would work. I know the alabama rig works well on calicos.

as I was pondering WSB crashing on a buzz bait :D
......I recall many true stories of halibut being caught on fly-lined anchovies on the kelp line.
salt water spinner baits aren't cheap so toss them with braid. ;)

There's a guy in SD that goes by the handle of fishtrick and makes the spin bomb and trixs jetty worms.
Spinnerbaits and jigs on steroids and I got a bunch and they get chewed.
Not sure if he's still making them or his site is still up but here's a old google link.

I have been using saltwater lures in freshwater and works great on LMB, then you have to imagine it will work the other way too! I have used spinner baits in kelp for Calicos ask ICEE he looked at me as if I was crazy when I used them on my boat!

Ive seen halibut come from the harbors on the bigger sized spinners slow rolled kicking up sand. I know of a ton of bass gear that works for the salt. I enjoy throwing plastics for calicos with my bass gear, just hate the salt getting in them. One of my best halibut baits from shore is a hardbait you'd use bass fishing.... Only thing Ill tell ya is it has 3 hooks on it. LOL

The chatter bait by strike king is excellent. Weighted blade really makes her kick on the slow roll. Im getting them winter bass yo-yoing them. They mainly hit it on the downward flutter. I usually have a chatter bait on a caster everytime I go out on one of my 12 boat rods.
