Yesterday I had Bob Rogers and crew for a repeat performance from a year ago. Thankfully the fish were more cooperative this time around. Last year we managed a nice box of tuna but the only way we could get bit was jigging which will flat out wear you out! Yesterday we caught all our fish on live bait, they wouldn’t touch the jig. The highlights of the day include jumping a sailfish, watching a blue marlin come out the water after a bait and somehow missing it, and catching a nice triple on yellowfin. The fish bit in spurts going sometimes an hour between bites then doubling up. After putting a load of tuna in the box we headed for the snapper hole and quickly put a limit in the box. The fishing continues to be great and shows no sign of slowing down. Back at it the next couple of days and I’ll keep you posted. Capt. Billy Wells (504)329-7451 Mexican Gulf Fishing Company
