heard a lot of rumors about sheepshead being a excellent tasting fish. I have a few fillets to experiment with. I did a butter/ garlic, lemon pepper sauté broiled and turned out just ok. U-tubed it and they showed a completely different fish from the east coast looking Ike a big stripped surf perch. Up for any recommendations.
    Thanks, Dennis

Sheepshead is best treated like shellfish. Steamed or boiled either cubed or filet. Spice as you like or just plopped in melted butter. It, to me, is really best that way.

By the way, if red and black coloring, they are California Sheepshead.

Steam, cool, use for seafood salad. Or, steam, mix with Alfredo sauce and serve over pasta.
