Day One Get Bent in Baja!

OK, amigos...

Everyone is back in and accounted for...somewhat!

Today was a goof-off day for most of the GB'ers recovering from last night's festivities. I will let them tell you the stories. All I will say is that quite a few of the stories are not matching up! Better get those stories straight before coming home!

Anyway... a few of the guys did elect to fish! The guys fishing La Paz didn't do quite so well, but today was just a recon day and the group won't be fishing La Paz for another 3 days....

The Dark Kings were on one of our cruisers. Theyfished the La Paz side. Instead of the 31' Black Magic, I upgraded the guys to the nicer and larger 38 foot Mediterranean "Ganador" since there were going to be six of them. They got 4 dorado. Nothing spectacular but seemed like everyone had a good time.

Drew Baumgartner and Tood Brushwyler fished a super panga on the La Paz side and got only one small dorado and that was it. They'll make up the scores later.

However...for the guys who went to Las Arenas...whole different story!

Some of them pretty much filled an ice chest...

Kai Lu and Larry Cusack slammed the yellowfin tuna and came back with a load of filets. Kai said, "You were right, the tuna were right there off the beach!"

Mike Alperin and Lee Cook from the East Coast also went to Arenas..intent on light tackle and hunting roosterfish...banner day!!! If I recall correctly, they were into the roosters within minutes taknig about a dozen rooster, a few tuna and some stud bonito! If Mike shows you the one photo of the fat bonito he got on light tackle, he claims it was less than a pound off the IGFA record It was PHAT!!!

Some of my other boats also nailed the tuna; got some decent dorado; pargo and wahoo! Good day!

Everyone getting ready for manana! Geared up and ready to rock. We take 'em out at 4:45 a.m. for Las Arenas!

I'll keep you posted!
Jonathan

Hay all this is Carnivore on pilots computer. Had a blast today but man is it HOT!!! I drank 5 bottles of water (YA WATER) and a ton of gatorade and still can't get enough. I might even be skinny when I get back. Anyway Todd and I had it tough today with only a small doodoo unbuttoning at the boat for todd. I am still on the skunk but I guess from the reports that the other side was getting hammered on Tuna so I am hopping I will get to keep all my gear and not sell any. Pics to come when I can get then changed over. Talk to ya soon.
