LAX Flight Questions

OK, for you guys that went to La Paz last year. how does this work?
We are flying with Alaska air and it appears you leave from the regular terminal (#3) when departing LAX and when you fly back it is the International terminal.
Also, how does customs work on the flight to La Paz? Do you arrive at the airport then get your bags then customs or do you only pass customs on the return flight?

Nope you just fly back into the same terminal #3. Just follow the crowd, all the terminals with international flights have a customs area.

Tom, you depart LAX from terminal 3 with no departing customs. When you return to LAX you'll arrive at terminal 3 then disembark the airplane (outside) and board a bus which takes you and your carry on to the Bradley terminal. Here you will go through the first phase of customs, once cleared, you will then pick up your checked bags and proceed through the final phase of customs, where your checked bags are subject to search. The biggest hitch is normally the rod tubes are picked up by baggage carousel 1 and your checked bags and ice chests, normally arrive at baggage carousel 6 ( which is at the opposite end of the terminal!!!)

Have fun down there!!!!!!

Kel

Thanks Kel. So the baggage terminal is the one in the international terminal right? We will get off the plane, bus over to that terminal, pass phase one cavity search, grab our stuff then go to phase two deep cavity search?
Also, does La Paz also have a customs you go through when arriving and departing for even more cavity searches?
Just trying to get my ducks in a row as this is all new to me.

Yes there is a customs at La Paz and it is the first place you go to off the plane. Then you go around the back side and get your luggage an then right out to the vans or what ever they have in the package you bought.

At LAX the terminal 2 international will have the baggage claim right there you don't go back to #3 to get it your bags will be in terminal 2 with ya.
