So, we headed back and gave the restaurant some more fish, this time we asked for fried fish fingers and more of the killer cilantro/soy sauce, again, a perfect meal to finish a day of fishing.
Made it back to the room and I swear, I was out like a light before my head even hit the pillow.
Got up again at 5am to meet Jill and Jonathon downstairs int he lobby for our breakfast of egg tacos and to get ready to meet Captain Alfredo at the Cortez Club for another day.
Hit the boat with the winds picked up again, purchased bait and then headed across the channel the the island. Captain Alfredo again called for us to put out the feathers we made. We had two missed dorado and it really sucked.
You could tell we were beat this day as we were no longer fishermen but farmers. After missing four solid hookups I finally got a dorado to stick:
After a nice fight, managed to gaff this cow for the cooler:
TJ was next up and had a nice bull, after a steller fisht, the fish was boat side when the line got caught under its gill rakes and cut the line, he was bummed.
We decided then to head into the rocks and see if we could find any pargo or carbillo, unfortunately, the wind was still kicking up making for too fast a drift to get any. Oh-well, next time as that is a species Shannon and I are dying to catch.
Decied to just motor slow and see who was home around the rocks. This is when TJ turned from Puffer King to Needle King. i have to say, i know these are considered a trash fish, but we had a blast catching them. they do fight killer and put on a show.
Next up, our last day from shore before we hit the airport and head home........
