AERO CAL LATEST - WATERS WARM AND FISH NOT SURE WHAT TO DO BUT ROOSTERS GO WILD -- PHOTO OF THE WEEK

In case you hadn't already heard from us this week, Aero Cal has given us another "manana". They are now saying it will be at least until May 8-10 until they are back on the air. Beyond that, who knows? I guess since they went down April 3rd, they have been saying it would only be a few more days. I guess I wanta be pissed at them, but I have to remember it's not them that's keeping them from getting in the air. Until they get clearance from certain Mexican agencies, it looks really weird to see all their planes lined up wing tip to wing tip on the tarmac at La Paz airport.
Aero Mexico has finally come through somewhat. They are continuing flights Thursday-Sunday-Thursday with direct flights non-stop from Los Angeles to La Paz. There are also flights daily if you're willing to go through Hermosillo or Mexico City. Heads up. If you're going on Aero Mex, they are NOT in the same terminal as Aero California. You're probably used to going to the Bradley International Terminal in at LAX. It's the WRONG PLACE!!! Aero Mex is actually in Terminal #5.
ROOSTERS GONE WILD!
There were high and low points all week as waters seemed to be transitioning into warmer conditions and the fish taking awhile to get used to it. For our La Paz anglers, the roosterish bite north of town at Espiritu Santo Island was incredible with fish foaming all around the boats and busting guys off as these 20-50 pound fish went nuts. Around Las Arenas, it was hit-or-miss, but when it was hit, there was some good fishing to be had. A few more dorado showing up as well as sailfish, pargo, cabrilla and a smattering of tuna that popped up outside and got everyone excited before heading out with the porpoise school. Incredibly, about a week ago a private angler landed a potentially new IGFA tackle record on a huge 240 pound sailfish! Talk about big...most sailifish are about 90 pounds. This was the Shaq O'Neil of pez velas!
Water temps have really jumped setting off a plankton bloom that has clouded the water in some areas, but water temps are already in the mid 70's to lower 80's.
