Bearings

I need to change out one of my wheels but dont have a clue, im pretty good mechanically just need to be shown once..Any tutorials online or something i could pick up as far as a how to?
Saltwater really did a # on my trailer. I wash it when i drop the boat and when i get home with a powerwasher but didnt matter. I installed a drum flushout kit recently..see how well that does.
Noticed that last trip out my trailer breaks got locked up..some new problem..lovely.
Friday i changed all my lights out to LED and those things were rusted too..submersables? more like junk. lost ground in the rust and picked up a short that took out my left blinker. Thats easy enough for me to fix..just need to figure out the mystery of removing the hub. very large sledge?

Put up a picture of the beast. It may help in figuring it out.
As far as the brakes locking up, all drum brakes do this eventually in water. Change them out to disc brakes and no more problems. If you want, I will ask my buddy where he got his disc brakes.

I use a pair of channel lock pliers and you have to grab the end and work it back and forth till it slowly comes off. It is no different then an end cap for front wheel bearings on a car just with a zerk fitting (or should) in the middle. A dead blow hammer will work too just be careful not to hit the zerk or it will bust off and then it is new end caps.

here is one AUTOS & BOATS : Maintenance & Repair : Basic Boat Trailer Maintenance: Repacking Wheel Bearings : DIY Network

this one is zerkless but the same principal
Repacking Trailer Wheel Bearings

This should help ya some.

Carnie, your the man thanks..let you know how it goes. after i get the trailer all fixed up next project is wiring up some downriggers.
Ive all but narrowed down my choice on a windlass solution, going with a lewmar pro fish.

I pulled it off looked like some water got in and the grease looked a bit discolored, bearing looked good tho, breaks and everything passed the visual inspection. I wanted to pull out the inner bear thats residing inside the hub. It looks like some kind of axle seal. question i have i started to wack it a bit and it didnt budge..should i just whale away till it gets out and replace it? the bearing is in the way and i dont want to bang on it to much.

Those seals are about 5 bucks or so and should be replaced anyway when you do a repack. No need of taking the time to do it then have a seal fail and have to redo it all over again. Pry it off with a big screw driver or pry bar and if you don't have a seal punch to reinstall the new one, use a 2x4 laid flat to spread out the force and a hammer to put the new one in.

Key here make sure you put the bearing in first. No joke my first front wheel bearings on my car I put on the seal then tried to get the bearings in. I LEARNED HEHEHE.
