On The Water Tunes

I really want to put a stereo system in my 21 CC. Figured I would mount it in the T-Top electronics box. Looking for recommendations on Brands or specific models. Don’t want to spend a fortune but want something that sounds good and will hold up to some water. Would like it to have a I-Pod input. Also any suggestions on speakers or placement would be awesome. Most likely would install it myself but may consider having it done if you know anyone good up here in the SB / Ventura / Oxnard area.

Thanks,

Bryan

If you don't mind -

Check your other electronics and see if you have a video input. Many of the larger screen electronics do now days, in-fact most.

If so seriously consider a radio that will allow you to play DVD's as well. The sound comes through your stereo speakers and the video is displayed on your other electronics.

Amazing how nice this feature is when doing an over night trip, doing a late night drift or day or night with kids who are no longer interested in fishing - this will save you from having to bring them back in or listening to them complain, just throw in a DVD for them to watch and you still get to fish.

We still kinda like to watch JAWS when were are out at night heheehe.

Just something else to think of....

On The Water Tunes

You have many choices for your tunes on your boat.
If you trailer your boat, you could basically put anything in there because the salt water environment won't have a chance to take any effect.
If this is the case, I would advise an Alpine deck. Get one that is Ipod compatible. It's under $200, it's an easy install, and it can take the rough water pounding better than most. For speakers, try to get some that have seperate tweeters. Those will give you the best sound, and there are some that are priced right. You may want to check out Polk Audio.
If you keep your boat in a slip, you made want to consider a marine stereo set up due to the corrosive effect of the salt water.
Clarion makes a nice line of marine decks and speaker systems. They also have stuff that is Ipod compatable.
If you like to play it loud, get an seperate amp with at least 50 watts per channel to run the speakers, especially if you have four speakers.
Just a little advise from someone who deals with this stuff on a daily basis.
Catch the big one,
Moogie

Call up Custom Car Sounds in Ventura (805)639-0833. Let them know Michael sent you and they will hook you up. I have also heard good things about audio experts. just stay away from any other shop in the area because ive been to all of them and they arent any good.
