Looks like a closed bow, not ideal to grab a hoop from the side but for 200 bucks and the motor runs, it might be worth it?

The big concern on the older Glaspars is the transom. Was made of plywood and glassed over. If someone did a thru hull and didn't seal it will abosorb water and weaken.

Ok I see the opposite with the hooping restrictions they have in place an open bow isn't that important. I think it is a great starter boat for someone just wanting something cheep and if you brake it or beat it up with hoops no biggie. Good catch Baja.

Couldn't find the boat on Craigslist. Said the e-mail wasn't working or I would be interested.

If the boat were available would their be someone who could look at it for me and help make the call rather than my driving all the way to Ventura. Sounds like Carni is selective enough?

It's at the top of the page Ventura boats.
give the guy a call.
16ft glasbar runs good have title moving must sell first 200.00
call doug 619-384-5644
located in ventura keys
We posted over each other Arthur I will tell ya it isn't a turn key and will need some work. Unless you are looking for aesthetics this would just be a beater boat. Any holes etc would be easily repaired just might not look like show room but for 200 bucks it would really be whether or not YOU wanted to put in the work. I wouldn't trust that motor near a brake wall anyway but for open water working structure it wouldn't be a bad set up. Again just a beater boat nothing fancy.

Thanks Carni, I have an emotional attachment to the small Glasspars from when I was a kid. Wasn't as woried about the engine as the glass. I am not willing to fix a transom. My concern is that the transom, hull and trailer be in good shape. After all I would have to pull it from Ventura to Irvine. Fiberglass can be painted and the seats replaced. Even the engine can be upgraded with a newer used motor or new. 25/40hp should move her along ok. Would mainly use for San Digeo Bay, Dana Point to San Onfre, Redondo Beach. I like my inflatable best for hooping.
