Long Beach harbor explosion

Channel 7 (LA) just reported that a 30-35' gasoline powered boat exploded in the harbor. 2 people injured. Thought to be gasoline fumes in the bilge... here's the story but more was said on TV. Sad...

Saw the report, what a bummer!

Just a reminder that when running gas engines, be sure to maintain your fuel system and tanks! Check your blower and blower hoses.

For $199.00 at Westmarine, you can get a fume detector that continually sniffs the bildge for fumes and sets off an alarm before the fumes get to the lower explosive limits.

I hope the two men on the boat survive, one was critical and the other is in serious condition.
