new boat update

went to base auto parts hueneme to return a marine starter on my buds boat AND THERE IT WAS!!! a prestine 9.9 merc. sittin waitin for me!! what luck. I offerde Bruce 150.00 less than what he was asking he sain no! I asked why dont you ask more so when youre offered less you got room to go down, so he kindly raised the price 50.00,the I knocked it down 50.00 and felt like a winner (weener) any ways i need a kicker mount now. got new FF, and radio, antenna, larger bait pump,compass, ropes, anchor etc.BYW my transducer cables a bit short. need to finish boat in 3 days so I can get out there!!ill post some pics. asap

I can't stress enough not to rush things when working on a boat. The consequences are not good. Hope to see pics soon an hope you can get it all done an SAFE by the time you want.

I concur gentlemen, yup im in a rush but being thourough . And its ready when its ready. jus hope fully soon!! Checking out fuel tank smelled a bit of gas and wanna check it out ,its a alum. tank and it shouldnt be eaten through by gas im guessin,could be the hoses.

An aluminum tank can get eaten through a lot depends on the grounding etc...Rare to happen on a fiberglass or wooden boat but it can happen. A pressure test will tell ya if you can get the hose ends off an plugged. I am assuming that you have sea tow or vessel assist just in case something goes wrong.
