Dark King's charters

As we all know that the August trip will be our last charter. We might have to plan charters in a smaller scale for the coming year. Maybe a 12 pack or even a 6 pack once in a while. Just to let everyone know what's happening with the Dark Kings we weren't 86 from any landings or boats but that would have been better then what we all have to go through now.
As most know, the core group of Dark Kings (15 of us) work at the same place. We started fishing many years ago in the 80's together and formed our first club call the "Hookers". As time went on, we slowly disbanded the club and went on our own fishing paths. Some continued, others transfered to other jobs and some just stopped. About 6 years ago, we started screwing around with the thought about starting a new fishing club again like before. The "DARK KINGS" got together, which were only 6 members back in 2002. We slowly started to grow with new member who enjoyed drinking and fishing and having a great time out on the water.
The name "DARK KINGS" came from several places, As some know, there is a fishing club called the "Darksiders" from allcoast which are known to party on their charters.
So there's where I got the "DARK" from. You know that feeling you get when you have a good buzz.........kind of like the "DARK" path of no return

"KINGS" came from a Yugio Card called "King of the Dark" who control everything under the sea, so............ from these two names, I came up with "DARK KINGS" Masters of the buzz and the controlers of the abyss.
As it stands now, we have 25 members which most are Get Bent members as well.
Okay, back to what's happening with the Dark Kings, We, all 15 of us got our walking papers from work, They informed us that the plant will shutdown and will not or ever be opened again.
Most of us have been working here for 25-30 years so you can see that it was a major blow for everyone here including me. I feel at this time that we have other priorities to take care of and asking for money for each charter planned for this year was not appropriate.
Hopefully, by next year we all can get together again and enjoy what we do best, drink and fish with friends.

All those years of experience must make you a great candidate for another company, right??? Fernie said you guys got some severance pay...at least that will hold you over for a while...Sorry babe, I am sure the Dark Kings will prevail.....

It was great! Had a blast! As for work...............shouldn't have a problem getting another job but most of the jobs don't pay shit! I've been very spoiled here and now need to figure out what I'm going to do when I grow up. AAhhh. maybe I'll be a boat rat or help out around the docks for a while.
