Newbie kayak angler outta Santa Barbara!!!
Hello all. Like the title says, I'm a newbie kayak angler (inflatable-Advanced Elements StraitEdge) from Santa Barbara. Having NEVER even paddled a kayak before let along fish in one, and jumping into the sport of kayak fishing, I have much to learn. Althought I'm trying to do as much research as possible before hitting the water, I'd love to meet up with any local kayakers/float tubers to learn the skills necessary to make my fishing trips successful. I love freshwater fishing and do a little bit of pier and surf fishing as well, but now Kayak fishing is where the baitmonkey is steering me. I ran into this site while doing my research on kayaks and kayaking gear and have found it to be very informative with many local members. I'm hoping to make this upcoming weekend my first launch out of Goleta Beach or the SB Harbor. I'm just waiting on a few more kayak essentials before I hit the water, so if anyone wants to meet up, holla at me, or see you on the water. Tight lines!

Stearn's is a great place to kayak fish, especially this time of year. Easy launch, and live bait available. Goleta is also a favorite of mine. The kelp line that parallels the pier holds a lot of fish. Go up to Refugio, if it isn't too windy.

Hey bro, welcome to the site, it's always good to have another yaker aboard. I live in Lompoc and I could meet you some time to fish together. Research is good but you just have to get in the water and go fishing and don't worry if you fish in the ocean you are going to roll it and get wet some time. But I love it....................................
