Just Though I'd say hi and give a little introduction,

Well I'm from thousand oaks. I usually fish malibu and ventura pier. I also do lot a surf fishing, point mugu surfor the powerplant. I'm just learning, this is my first year fishing in california, I'm originally from seattle.

For a living I work as a software engineer for a telecom company, and in my spare time I usually code up web applications. So if you need any help setting up a web application feel free to ask.

Cool adr91360... many of us are new to surf fishing (me). Ive mostly done freshwater or sea fishing, but I really like surf fishing/pier fishing. The power plant is my home away from home now, so look out for a guy with a dirty miami dolphins hat, thats me. I also go to the ventura pier alot (like tonight), so come over and say "whazz-up" if you see me. Welcome to the board !!!

Welcome aboard Todd! I think we are all still trying to figure out how to master surf fishing and it's a constant learning process. What's great about theseforums is you get to gather up everyones shared knowledge and apply it to your own skill. I've learned so much about fishing since I have beenforum hopping. Enjoy your stay!

You mentioned that your in Thousand Oaks, where abouts? I'm in Thousand Oaks as well. I guess its you and me representing the 91360 on this forum!

Mike, What time are you headed to the pier tonight? I am craving halibut so I was considering hitting up the power plant after work, then maybe the pier.I am craving it so bad that I actually bought a bag of it from Cosco last night for $21 bucks! That has got to be the best tasting fish I have ever had.

I get off work at 5pm. I should be on the pier by 5:45 or 6pm. If you go, look for me at the end of the pier. Hope you make it out bro!

ps... I forget what flatties taste like! Ugg, I need to catch a keeper!!!

I'll be there as well. Seems like a nice day to do some fishing. Look for a guy wearing an old blue american eagle hat.

Cool Joey... Its about time we fished together!

I have a live bait tank (for when the bait starts running). They are the best bait for flatties! Bring some big hammers as well. They may be harder to work on a pier, but we may need them in case the bait fish never show up.

Oh yeah,

Make sure you bring a sabiki rig as well (to catch bait).

Mike,

You wanna hit the power plant up first for a while? See if we can get the flatties to munch on some plastics? I will probably be leaving work at 4:30 or 5 in camarillo. Let me know..
