I'll try to answer everyone that answered back in this post. Sorry if I miss anyone's question.
We haven't been catching anything really worth getting too excited over for the past month or so. Seems to die off for a couple of months every winter. When we are catching em the WSB's can get huge. 52lbs is the biggest I've seen so far. I caught my first one in August. 18lb'er. Not bad for a start. Cabezon are probably the most common. 6-8lb'ers are common. Sheepshead, lingcod, leopard shark, moray eels, all from the beach/rocks. Get tired of hookin into the mud marlin's though. LOT of work for nothin.
The Kayak meeting we had was worth having. Hopefully we'll be able to get back in the water on the boats and kayaks in the not too distant future.
Basically my job is to play pivot man in a big circle jerk. Mostly administrative, and a lot of logistical coordination for programs that use the Navy's Sea Range.
NAW... I think I'll keep my job. Best one I've ever had, and I get to go fishin in one of the best spots in the world every day after work.
The swells can get HUGE here so you have to always be aware that mother nature isn't your friend when you're fishing off of the rocks. I usually wear waterproof pants and top just in case a swell does manage to surprise me.
Thanks for the warm welcome from everyone. As soon as I figure out how I'll post some pictures of the fish that have been caught out here.
