Greetings! Just came across this site today and I was quite impressed. Spent almost 3 hrs. looking at the Recipe forum alone. I live in N. Calif. and fish my own boat primarily offshore for salmon, rockcod, and albacore out of Bodega Bay. My wife and I make a couple of trips/year down to the East Cape. I also try to make one long range trip/year of at least 5 day duration. This year, I'm scheduled for an 8 day May trip on the Indy to Alijos Rocks. Don't know what to totally expect on this, it is early season, but the price was right. Not doing any fishing at this time--have been re-wrapping a number of rods and then plan to build a Calstar GF700H to put a new Avet HX 5/2 on. Having been raised in Oregon, I have spent the greater part of my life in the outdoors, fishing and hunting. That's close to 50 years now! A person really begins to realize how fast life goes by when you know that you have far more seasons behind you than you do ahead of you. Best of luck to you all in 2008.

I grew up near Sheridan, in NW Ore. Fished out of Depoe Bay for salmon and rockfish, the Siletz, Nestucca, Trask, and Wilson rivers for steelhead/salmon. My dad was originally from Bend so he had good knowledge of the high lakes in the Cascades and also the Descutes and Metolious rivers. We always spent time every summer in that area.
