Thanks for the welcome guys, we are just coming to the end of what has been a fantastic Kiwi summer. I spend my holidays with the family at place called Otautu bay on the Coromandel Peninsula. Plenty of snapper caught so the family didnt go hungry. Also finally managed a Kingfish or what you guys call a yellowtail, livebaiting / balooning from the rocks. Came to about 10kg or about 20 something pounds or therabouts. Not huge by NZ standards. I think the world record for yellowtail is from Whakatane here in NZ. It came to 55kg

Any of you guys know if the Saltist 20h has a centrifugal cast control? I have picked one off ebay, should be here next weekWant to use of the rocks casting poppers to yellowtail and Kahawai.

Hey Stan, welcome to Get Bent! You'll love it here, just a great bunch of folks. I got to spend some time fishing in your country during the late 80's. Fished around Taupo for monster Rainbows in the Forest Land and off shore at and around Mayor Island. Your country is the most beautiful I've ever visited, and with the nicest people on the planet!
Those Kahawai are a blast on spinning gear!!!!!!!

Hope to see some pics and reports soon.
