Iam new to the saltwater fishing thing about 2 weeks now. I am a big time fisher from back in the Midwest and brought the bug out here with me!


Right now I just have a light tackle setup that I catch the heck out of small sharks with. Which BTW is very fun.


I am about to put togeter a new rig.


I am always looking for new people to fish with. I fish alot of the ventura pier atm.

Welcome to the board Shawn, glad to have ya! I'm sure you'll enjoy it here. I see your a freshwater guy with some nice catch's... dang dude... a 55lb cat? man, I love cat fishing but my personal best is only 13lbs. Nice job on the bass to, you got me beat on that one by half a pound as well.


If you really get into saltwater fishing I highly recommend hitting Scott (finadict) up... he is the owner of ARC (american rod company) and makes the best rods in the world! ARC does freshwater to though[img]smileys/[/img]. Anyhow... looking forward to hearing some of your story's and fishing reports man... welcome!


Oh, just a note... as a newbie is ok.. hehe, but I moved this post out of the reports section (not a report[img]smileys/[/img]) and into the introductions forum.

for some night time cats. Thats what I am after most of all in the
fresh water. I dont have a boat so its a whole shoreline for me...LOL.
Im successful enought at though.



We are fishin this saturday if you want to join us for some fun
and fishin...hey and even some catchin if the fishing god gets up early
enough and is able to shine on us poor shore bound guys. Those boat
dudes have the gods , luck and ability to get out past the breakes and
beyond...sigh...some day....

Welcome Shawn, I also grew up in the midwest as well. Manchester, MO to be exact. I miss the trout fishing but the saltwater fishing is a lot more fun im my opinnion. Hope to fish with you sometime in the future.

Bear- I am up for some freshwater Cats or stripes. When you guys goin.


Joey - I saw it first from the Pier Fishing in California Site then Vmfbn or whatever told me about it on the pier. I went to fishermans Tackle and grabbed a couple of cards today too.


Creek - I fished for cats in lake Texhoma (Texas Oklahoma Border) Grew up there. Moved out here in October. I would love to get some Freshwater action going too.
