Hey Guys...

New to the site, just thought I'd say hello!

New to the whole fishing game in general.
Just put together a Yak for toying around in Long Beach harbor...PV...Redondo...or wherever I'm told the fish are biting.

Also took my first trip offshore in a buddies new boat.
Parker 2520 w/ tuna tower.
WOW am I hooked now.

I'll be around a bit.
Anyone near Long Beach feel free to say hello.

Take Care,

Gary (halibait)

LOL a Park 2520 is not the way to start out. That is like your first car being a Cadillac. Definitely spoils you on all others. Welcome to the site.

Thanks for the greetings everyone.

I've been reading around and already found lots of interesting threads.

My last two days have revolved around one fish at the Marina Del Rey bait dock...and doing some work on the Parker for my friend.

At the bait dock I pulled 1-Sand Bass(legal but released)...1-Yellow fin croaker(I think)... and 1 - Halibut (21 1/2"). Better believe I woulda made dinner out of the flatty if he was a bit more mature.

On the Parker I played Mr. Engineer.
He has the Tuna Tower and his slip location has him passing under a bridge to leave the harbor. At high tide he doesn't fit unless we fold down the tower. Anyone who's done that knows what a huge PITA that is, and how it's definitely NOT a one man job. Today I mounted (2) 120lb. stainless steel lift shocks to make it easier.

I'll post pics in the appropriate forum later this week. I may make a DIY kit for this modification if there's any interest.

Happy fishing to all of you.
See you around !
