I haven't been fishing long in fact once is all I have been and even then it was more to appease the oh never mind heheh. I hope asking questions is ok as I will have allot. Right now I am getting settled in with my place and job but will be around more soon. Hope that is enough info.

totally cool Jessy...

Welcome back to the area... and good to see you've taken a liking to fishing. But be warned! ITS ADDICTING! haha...

So yeah... its a good time to be busy unpacking and settling into your new place. This is the slow time of year and by the time you've got yourself a rod, reel, and some basic tackle... things should be roll'n hard and bent rods should be everywhere.

Feel free to ask any question... none to complicated and none to simple. Thats what we're here for.Edited by: Flipper

Seriously though, like Flipper said....you have a question dont hesitate to ask. We are all friend here and are always willing to help. Welcome to the board and hope to wet a line with you soon. On of these days we should hook up and hit castaic with a few of us here....last time it was gut wrenching funny....I cant wait to do it again.

Welcome Jessy! What up from Thousand Oaks! I have been living here the last 6 years.

Feel free to ask all the questions you want, we have plenty of people here willing to share their knowledge. Plus it educates the rest of us at the same time

Have you figured out what you would like to try first? Maybe some salt or freshwater? This time of the year, its the slowest for fishing on the big pond (ocean). The only thing really biting out there now is rockfish and the season closes January 1st. Trout fishing is starting to get into full swing at all the local lakes with the cold weather. I use to fish for trout alot but got hooked on the ocean thing. Since then I haven't done muchfreshwater but I might to again soon the way things have been going.

The last time we all went to Castaic Lake was a blast. The fishing sucked but I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. I'llhave to admit, I had fun.

Seriously, there is never a dull moment when fishing with the people on this site. If you're looking to catch some fish, have a good time and meet some great people, you've come to the right place.

Welcome, Jessy. You've come to a great place. I fish the piers and surf a lot, usually around Venice, Dockweiler and down to Manhattan Beach. Occasionally I'll get up to Santa Monica, but I haven't been there in a year or so.

If you'd like to tag along on a pier sometime, you are more than welcome. Pier's can be a good place to make mistakes and learn. The people are often more forgiving then they might be on a crowded party boat, andyou don't get seasick. Also, it's free!

Drop me an e-mail if you ever want to stop by for a visit out there.

Welcome to the board Jessy! I think you'll find that you have definitely come to the right place for answers to questions, advice and just a real good time! I live in Santa Clarita as do Bearfish, SoCalSteve and a few others so if you want to try Castaic or Piru give one of us a holler. We also like to fish the piers, beaches, channels and jetties of Ventura county from time to time as well. Feel free to come along any time we have something going!

Warning: Come prepared to laugh hard and repeatedly. It happens every time at least two of us get together!
