Something to possibly consider before we vote for President.

A Short Course On Brain SurgeryWorth Watching...

A short but poignant independent film on government sponsored healthcare systems.
Everyone who plans to vote for our new President in 2008 MUST see this. Regardless of the person for whom they would vote. Please forward this to everyone you can think of as soon as you can. Click on the web site below:http://www.freemarketcure.com/brainsurgery.php

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will sit in a boat all day drinking beer.

Just remember... they had money... but couldn't speed up the process.

"WE CAN AFFORD IT, BUT..." is only one side of the issue...

So what do you do if you DON'T have the money? Just die because you can't get a freakin' a**hole doctor to accept you as a patient because the Medicare reimbursement rate is too low and "just not worth the hassle"?

"WE CAN'T AFFORD IT AND..." is the other side, and it's a VERY BIG REALITY IN THIS COUNTRY...

Look, I truly feel healthcare is a VERY important business sector with moral & cultural components that our Government should never take full control of BUT ALSO never let completely go of...

In the decision of the lesser of two evils... I DO choose capitalism over that bulls#$t social medicine system they have!

I.M.H.O.

Thanks for the vid link Frank, Sandy and I just watched it. Had to chuckle...

If people only knew the kind of crap my girlfriend has dealt with trying to find a doctor who would take Medi/Medi in glorious Ventura County they might have more compassion for those fighting to have access to the system like those who can afford it!

But survival of the fittest I suppose...

The worst problem is that Canada has had it for years and it works great. There is no reason it should bankrupt people to get a check up from the doctor. To many "healers" are more worried about their portfolio then healing and the insurance companies MAN talk about pill pushers. Don't heal anyone just keep them coming back for another freaking pill.

I don't believe that what you said is necessarily true! Try being in your sixties or seventies in Canada and needing an organ transplant! They will say that you have lived a good life and enjoy what you have left to live. The money that they would have to use for your transplant could be better used for people who are younger and have more productive years left to them. The myths of socialized medicine lives on!

Ya and HMO's are just great, they let you die at 19 because they won't give ya a transplant. Or you could just die in the waiting room because they don't have enough nurses to watch you die in a bed. Then you could sit in the waiting room over 2 hours after you have suffered a heart attack because there isn't enough ERs to serve every one. What is really fantastic is an ER lets the person die in the waiting room above then they close it because they let the person die and now the 74 people that were helped before her now don't have that place to goto. Ya socialized medicine stinks.

B.S. So now I bet the reason why it is failing now is because it "wasn't implemented correctly". Yeah right. That is just another myth from the socialism factory, actually people say that about communism as well.

So how does socialized medicine bring new products and research to the table? It can't. Socialism is evil. Steal from one, and give it to another, just like these "rebates" we are expecting to get in the mail.

Unfortunately what made this country so strong has helped create this mess. Free Enterprise!

It started in the 60's with the Doctor's raising their rates, then came the lawyers and the out of control lawsuits which the courts let happen. Then the insurance companies could not absorb all of the losses so they had to adjust rates and regulate more. Then here comes the drug companies wanting their fair share and so on and so on...

The only way to fix this is all parties involved have to sit down with our legislators and and figure what is a fair and resonable profit and each party has to make consessions to create a starting point and build from there.

There is no fix that can be created by our politicians alone especially with all of the lobbiest and special interest groups involved.....

It's just one of the many issues in our country that needs to be repaired.........

Good topic. Trying to get my head around all of what the candidates are saying regarding this. I know for a fact that the plan in Canada sucks ass. Both of my Canadian co-workers have aging parents and I hear similar horror stories - even for the simple stuff like a sinus infection....

But on the other hand, my insurance premiums for the last 3 years have almost doubled each year. I can't keep up with that.

Late to this topic but here goes and short..
I was stationed in Bermuda for 3 years. Bermuda is British no matter what they say about their "Own" Government (That's why they have a picture of the Queen of England all over the place).
Anyhow..They use the same Socialized Medical as does Canada. Oh..did I tell you that Canadians are British subjects too? They pretend it's not true like the Bermudians too.

My son fractured his hip in Bermuda and since there wasn't a US Military Hospital on the island he was cared for at the Bermudian Hospital. Of course the US Government Covered the costs but his treatment was the very same treatment anyone would get at that hosptial under their socialized program. The best way to describe it is Ventura County General Hospital but worse by at least 5 times. Totally jacked up.

He waited in pain for 3 hours on a gurney in emergency before anyone looked at him. Guess what? There wasn't anyone else in the Emergency room. The doctor was busy walking his rounds and filling charts and any emergencies had to wait until he was done.
That's just the tip of the iceberg folks. My son would have gotten better care from an indignous New Guinea tribe witch doctor than what that place offered. It was totally ghetto. Crappiest system I have ever seen.
So for all those that think that Socialized health care run by the government is the best thing that's happened since Moms Apple Pie....Think again:
1.) You get what you pay for and if it's free..you get that too
2.) Careful for what you wish for...you just might get it
