Unhappy im hella scared and confused... i need advice. please respond.

my job is relocating me to florida, within the upcoming week and a half my job is relocating me to florida. i dont know anyone there, no fishing spots, no family, ill be pretty much alone. i really dont know what to do, but if i dont go i lose my job. if i lose my job, im on the streets again. i cant trust my family with this, because they wouldnt let me go, and then wouldnt help me get on my feet after the job loss, none of my friends are wise enough in the ways of the world to be worth asking, no offense to them, so i though id ask my second family here on gbsf for their thoughts and advice, because i feel that you guys are much wiser. im not messing around or joking in case anyone doesnt believe me. im hella scared, and i just need some help with this. anything you guys can say to help is appreciated beyond words.

So, they want to relocated you to Florida?
Is this the job where you will make $200K per year?
If it is, get your butt down there.

If I were your age and they were going to pay me that kind of cake, I'd move to anywhere they wanted me to.

If you're worried about not knowing anyone, there are GBers down there and lot's of anglers. Show up at a pier one day and you'll meet new friends.
If you're worried about not knowing any fishing spots, well, you'll be in Florida my friend. Don't worry about it. It's fishing city down there.
If you're still nervous about making the move, join the Navy.

Havoc,
Reminds me of the time I moved to Arizona by myself against my parents will for school. Didn't know anyone or the area. I won't sugar coat anything for you. The first 2 months sucked and I hated it. I was this close to coming back. I guess well I was homesick and the environment just wasn't fitting. But fortunately I slowly started meeting new people and places and before I knew it I had trouble coming back. I still miss it. I was there 2 years and those two years of school have given me stability to support my family and buy a house. Just as a comparison, my friends wanted the easy way out and got a minimum paying job didn't go to school, lived at their parents and never willing to take a risk and when I talk to them it's all about how bad they are struggling. My point here is you have to willing to take risks in life.
If this is the job that's paying you 200k and you SERIOUSLY believe you have what it takes to make that kind of money I say "Get your ass down there"...
200k/year is some serious business, don't let that opportunity pass you buy and kick you in the ass....
Keep us posted

I don't know you, your age or what you do for a living but what is the big deal.

Rather than looking at negatives look at positives. A complete relocation as you are mentioning is like a chance to start all over. No one knows you so they don't know any of the stupid stuff you have done either. Get to start from scratch and truly make it and life what you want it to be.

Now if you are making $200,000.00 a year, depending on where in Florida you will be you may just be doing very, Very, VERY well. If you lived in my city you would be a BRAND NEW Home Owner and BRAND NEW BOAT Owner if you don't have a lot of bill coming with you. Yes, SERIOUSLY.

Shoot me a PM and let me know where they are planing on relocating you to.

Not trying to be too much of an a$$hole, and taking the perspective of one who employs people, but...I can't imagine paying someone 200K who is incapable of making this kind of decision.

thanks everyone. im not passing it up, its just that i am really nervous about it. i do have a lot of bills, and my boss hasnt paid me, thats the main reason im gettin relocated. my boss is more of a head of this branch. the company owner is the one moving me to where im sure to get paid. i dont know if ill do as well with sales there but getting paid fersure is definitely worth making less sales than making a sale everyday and never getting paid.

WOWW WOWW!!!
If you haven't gotten paid from the SAME employer and the boss is asking you to do this...I Think there's something sketchy here....
Okay, I don't know that I trust these people....
Seriously sounds like someone is trying to get the best of you...
Promises of 200k to a 19 year old, not paying you on time, relocating....hhhmmm sounds seriously sketchy to me now...
How would you be sure, beyond doubt that this same company will pay you....
