Fuel Pump was replaced 50K miles ago along with the Injectors and as far as these records show it is the stock EGR valve, so im guessing its going out. Starting is also a bit delayed, and it never did that before I had the engine stumbling problem...

When was the last time you got a smog check?
That would tell you if your EGR valve is/was good. I think it would still be a good idea to at least take it off and inspect it, clean it up a little and make sure it still holds under vacuum.
Also, I think if you take your truck to a tranny shop they can hook it up to their computer and verify the tranny is getting the electronic signal at the right time to engage the shift. I think they can even change the duty cycle from their computer to make shifting smoother.
I know Aamco performs this test but I will not be going back to them anytime soon. I had one bad experience that cost me my transmission. About $1400 and they said it was "My problem". I'll leave it at that. It's your choice to where you take your car.
Anyway, Sounds like your particular problem is some how linked to the transmission since it only happens in 4th gear.

I got this info from a freind ,hope it helps.

As For your problem. Are you using a scan tool
in which you are able to take a snapshot when the missfire is happing. Is the missfire in the same cylinder or in many different cylinders. What is the manifold vacuume at idle any air leaks are a problem to the mass airflow sensor for giving the correct A/F ratio. Are the sparkplugs 41-932 ac delco sparkplug. Next durring the snapshot is the O2 voltage falling off to indecate a lean missfire or is the O2 going high to indecate secondary electircal failure. what is the TPS voltage. Check the baro reading is correct to your elevation. what are the block lean values durring the snapshot

Thanks for the help guys, but my problem went from "annoying" to "HUGE!". Today while driving on the highway my engine went out of wack. Now my idle is very rough, runs very rough while driving and I have 2 DTC's. The DTC's show that my MAF is messed up while getting a misfire. I know they are connected, but how?

OK well turns out I had 2 totally different problems and i am in a rut. I cleaned my MAF and it was dirty and my engine runs a little better, but it turns out when my engine went crazy, i had a worn valve go out and i have absolutely no compression on my #1 cylinder. So I have one more question that i HOPE someone can help me out with. Does anyone on the board do Valve Jobs at a good price??? I was quoted between 700-1200 out the door here in town for all 8 valves. Or does anyone here know of a good guy I can take it to???
