Not really a catch, it is dependent on the signal you get. On DSL lines you can suffer from poor phone lines etc. It also isn't full duplexing meaning if one person is talking the other can't say anything or the one with the best signal will over power the other. Time outs will kill the connection "dropped calls" and well you get the picture.
