Margaritaville?

Hello all-
Relatively new to the area in general. My wife and I moved in about 1.5 years ago to Camarillo and have as yet found a place to call the "GO-TO" Mexican food joint. Yolies is close and imo is just O.K. and that is generous. The food is just o.k. and I find the margs (even the Cadillacs) harsh. We tried the "famous" El Tecolote and won't go back. Soooo not impressed and that place gets rave reviews from many. My question to you all is where do you go when you want the killer mexican grub. The catch...the Margs need to be ones that bring you back for more. My gold standard....Santa Monica......El Cholo's.
http://www.elcholo.com/

If you have not had their Margs...you need to make trip. That and their seasonal Green Corn Tamales.....dear lawd they make you whimper.

So lets hear it......when you want 'the kind' mexican grub and margaritas...where do you go?

Thanks in advance-
-E-

That's an easy one...

Try this place:

Casa DE Soria

(805) 648-2083
1961 E Thompson Blvd, Ventura, CA

The best authentic Mexican food around and you better have your wife drive if you'll be drinking the Margies. The Casa Classic is made Cadillac style with Patron

You will love it.

Yolie's in Ventura is one of my spots. Main and Garden, 1 block west of Ventura Avenue.
Also try Margaritavilla in Ventura Harbor Village. Great view, great drinks, good food.
Acapulco (sp?) on Victoria across from the Gov. center has great drinks and food.
Yolanda's on Main St. in Ventura is worth mention, but try the others first.
For just good cheap food without the drinks go to Taco De Mexico on Telegraph near the Pac. View mall or Bobby's at Lantana and the freeway in Camarillo.

I second that notion. Their bean dip is phenomenal, don't know the secret but I hear they put some chorizo in there to spice it up. Killer margaritas too. Fri nights also has a bit of eye candy walking around the place.
