You guys should have come to the meet and greet meeting last night at CIYC........the Harbor Patrol is not going to allow stringers of nets anymore........they cannot be more than 10' from Jetty and no more than 5' away from your boats where as you don't have to manuever your boats to get to themGo figure this out if you have 10 hoop nets. Phishy, Jwoodman, Wils, Larry Buzzard, and myself were there and we were in shock to hear those restrictions. Also the Coast Guard will be there monitoring safety violations, if your lights are not working you will be sent to the dock if you get a second warning it will result in a ticket.

WHAT?!?!

So let me get this straight, you cannot have your 10 nets more than 5 feet away from your boat?!?

They are going to have more problems with wrapped props and boats hitting the rocks than they every have before...

Looks like it's time to go hoop open water...

AND you can only have your traps along the long ends of the jetty's and no longer around the tips of jetty's. Also no traps along the jetty's that connect to the beaches.

Sooooo, the first one out there to set his traps will be the winner, because it will be impossible to set the traps three or four deep from the wall......I figure I'm gonna have to set anchor, toss 5 traps out to my port side, and 5 traps to my starboard side and tie them off to my boat. Or go out there with less traps.
