Are we becoming another BD?

Our community is currently 7,564 members to date and growing. I do not see this trend slowing down either in the near future. What I do see is some minor flaming. Notice the words some and minor. I also am guilty of not always conducting myself in an appropriate manner on this site. For that, I apologize to all. I am only trying to make the point that we should all take a look at ourselves and this site, including what GB means to us individually as well collectively. Please do not get me wrong I have seen some great and wonderful examples of â€œfamilyâ€ support and help within this site. I only would like to point out the possibility of a negative situation that would change this site possibly forever.

I am proud to be a member of GB.

Our destiny lies within ourselves.

I understand that there are people who are propagating negativity constantly, as well as newbies who might not understand the boundaries. It is imperative that we are responsible for our actions.

Your thoughts and comments on this thread are appreciated. The good, the bad, and the ugly.

All I can say is that, I have some great memories of people helping people on this site.

Think about it.

Well said Warren, people like you will keep this site from sliding to the dark side. Lets keep this site where all can come for information, tips and conversation about OUR favorite hobby..............FISHING!!! We can also give each other the support we need through tough times and bad fishing.

However you can't put 7 thousand people in a room together and expect everyone to agree. We welcome opinions and thoughts from all sides but when it turns into a flame war, the line gets drawn.

I will admit, the amount of deleted posts per day has grown a bit but rest assured, the situation is under control and the forums are being closely watched for unnecessary nonsense. It will not be tolerated, period.

If any of you have a problems with anyone's post, or see anything that shouldn't be there please feel free to message any moderator or admin and we'll do our best to address the issue.

hey joey maybe we need to post a code of conduct so that everyone know what is expected of them that way when thier post is deleted they will know why

Get Bent has changed alot since I joined. 7,500+ members,..... but how many are active? It is still a good site, but I have been flamed by new members on other boards and I am not happy about it. I am trying not to carry it over to here, but its hard. When someone takes shots at you and your family it does get kind of personal.

The key thing to remember is when you have an argument it isn't a bad thing. It is how others reciprocate and or act that can make it go south. Remember it is perfectly ok to agree to just disagree. We will do our best to keep things civil and I too have gotten over heated and made a large a$$ of myself. Know that if we edit or delete a post it isn't because we are mad or picking you out but just trying to keep the good flow of things going.

Things to know: for the most part if you wouldn't see or hear something on prime time network T.V. then it most likely will not fly here. I know the fishing pics can get a bit gory but that is what we do here. As for the other stuff just keep the ladies covered and the pot shots above the belt.

Keep on point and if you see yourself going from "I think your wrong" to "your mother dresses you funny" then the line has been stepped over and you no longer have a point, it is now just a fire to be put out. REAL easy to do though.

first of all..lets not take ourselves so seriously..this is by no means becoming any other forum that what it is..so relax..rest assured we have some fantastic mods...that really have no lives but to sit here and babysit and edit our threads...its a tough job that doesnt seem to go recognized....the little things they do..and the big things we do is what makes this a fun webforum.
Look..sometimes work sucks...and i get on here..and i read a post of JJ's Cisurfer, Pineapple..etc....and i just have to laugh inspite of myself...ISNT that what its all about? The very little getbent drama we have here is just part of it...dont get your panties in a bunch..and try insert control...again...thats what the mods do..and they are daym good at it...
Kent..disagreements happen..and things are sometimes said..that hey..even i regret...what the edit button is for really...but sometimes its to late..I followed the thread...and i love you and your kid...but that got stupid...for everyone...and needs to be put behind..move on homie...go kill so fish for christ sake! when was the last time you went fishing!!!!!!

This is one of the most helpful and friendliest webforums around. As long as the people that care about it continue to do so..it will live on...i really dont think Sinker and the founders had any idea what they created back then would become this...
Look and read his previous post about the GB brotherhood...and then you might understand what this is about.....
