I've never been one to remember names unless I use them more than once. I don't doubt the guys word either. You and I both know there are s***heads around so what's the surprise?

Wow! thats strange, I've always noticed that the deck crew was just sh----t happy to be there, that they'd do it free. If true, those guys should be working the parks and alleys.

Bad situation and a way to make a bad name for their boat!

I can't remember the names of boats I have been on while visiting places. Well not for very long anyway, then again I am lucky to remember my friends names.

Have to agree with Wils and Woodman - not sure of your bag limits anymore but that could easily go up to 30 bucks or more couldn't it? That could be a HUGE deal.

Just a fun FYI - here in this part of Florida anyway you CAN NOT fillet a fish on the water. Boat must be docked and fish taken to cleaning station. I think because of all the slot limits maybe. Yes, this even holds true for charter and head boats. You can gut and gill them though - good thing too as you need to on the Swordfish to fill their belly cavity with ice as I have yet to be on a boat big enough that had that big of a fish hold

I have never heard of a local boat doing that and honestly the guys all know that word gets around very quick and they know better not to do that. Maybe it was a mis-understanding?? I know this has happened to me while working on boats. I ask "Would you like to have your fish filleted or gill and gutted" and the newbie said "We have to choose either fillet or gill and gutted? I wanted to take them home" and I replied "Oh you can take them home, no problem. Its just most people have them cleaned on the boat to save a huge mess and a lot of work at home" and than he had his fish gutted. If he never would have asked if he could take them home, i never would have known that he was confused.

Just my dos pesos...

Yeah exactly my point Tony. I mean of course this could have happened, there are a$$soles and retards out there, but live i said ive fished and worked on these C.I boats for over a decade and have never heard of this happening. If it did I say ask your buddy to call the landing and make this problem known.

Here in santa cruz charter boats are almost a thing of the past with only one big boat left the Velocity and a handful of 6 pack boats. Gas prices and no salmon season and resricted rockcod fishery, most are more than happy to clean your catch for a tip or include it. Jobs fishing are tough to find there is always someone to take your place.
