Wow! that was strange that Great White killing that guy in Solona Beach. Was down there in Nov, Dec, doing insurance work for the fire clean up after all the fires came thru. Just the other day down in Newport Beach they're seeing seal lions that are only common to Alaska and Bearing sea. Is the water temp bringing them down or are they following the food chain down, weird?
That area is one of many local spots that are known birthing (pupping) areas used by big mama GWS.
Immature GW's eat a lot of flat fish and smaller sharks like leos and SNGF which are very common along that stretch of beach as well as the San Onofre area.
