Are Corbina good eatting?

I was wondering if anyone here tasted Corbina... I hear they are, but I'm not to sure.

They are okay,kinda mushy. Your best bet is to get some good batter, and fry them up in strips, or make fish tacos out of the meat.

I personally hate eating corbina. They are mushy no matter how you cook em! And they stink to0!

I never tried cooking the corbina I catch, but I have had it a local Ecuadorian restaurtant (El Caserio) and they make a kick @$$ Lemon Herb Corbina. Let us know if you decide to try and it and it turned out.

In Latin America the word Corb(v)ina is used for several kinds of fish.
You probably ate farmed orange mouth corvina or tilapia.
There is no commercial fishery for our local corbina.
The way they taste reflects on what they eat.
Local fish, especially in the Santa Monica bay area have a tough time finding forage that's not polluted one way or another.
They are closely related to white seabass and Gar Goodson's book "Fishes Of The Pacific Coast" rates their edibility as Excellent.
Same rating he gives for yellowtail, wahoo and albacore.
Your mileage may vary..............
