I would refer him to one of the many publications offered with all the common spots listed. That would at least point him in the right direction.

have to agree with Joey, there is no need to be uncivil with someone new. We were all there at some point. Getting into fishing, spent a ton on a new boat, gear etc..and wanna pull on something. If anything offer some advice on how to catch fish, what to look for..etc..
Funny as these replies maybe......no sportmanship there. I enjoy teaching and learning the game of fishing. Long as someone has a good attitude..why not help?

Now no one go falling over or anything but I have to agree with Joey and Phishy COMPLETELY on this.

We have very little structure here so numbers are tough to come by. I have friends who give me all their numbers and if I have any they don't I give to them. On weekends we either stay away from unpublished numbers or ensure no other boats are in site as they will Radar Mark you as well out here in a heart beat.

Being still fairly new out here my numbers book is not huge but growing everyday, some the hard way and some from friends. If I got asked by a new guy or a stranger my answer would be grab a Top Spots Map or something similar for out there.

Ya agree with Sinker agreeing with Joey and phishy. Sometimes new people just need to learn some proper etiquette and being nasty doesn't help them or you. Offering some advice on finding structure or such would be a better way to start or even offering up some well known spots like la Janel (ya I spelled it wrong I am sure) to get them started. You never know the guy you think is a big jerk could become a good friend.

Now how he replies would determine if I got nasty from there so it isn't out of the question just not a start.

Tell him that you'll give him a new set of coordinates everytime he takes you fishing. Better yet, tell him that I will give him a new set of coordinates everytime he takes ME fishing!

I bought a boat from some SBA locals who used it AND it's GPS since the late 90's. There has to be around 200 spots marked in it...
