Screw it, If I could afford one, I'd be all over it! Anything that is within your grasp to help bring the odds in your favor should be used.
BTW-I've never tried one but assume that it does help with casting distance and also affords you extra time fishing rather than picking out gnarly birdsnest.

practice practice practice or become an instant pro....get a spinning reel and start catching fish. toss light, medium, heavy lures, jigs poppers, finbaits, swimbaits, chunks, plastics, etc etc etc. no birds nest worries. hehehe.

spool tension adjust it for every weight.and wind your line up good for your next cast-stop yur spool the instant yur jig hits water-try casting with the handle facing up at the sky... this may help a bit!
