I usually will only take sharks that look old enough to reproduce. It's a personal thing and each person has gotta set their own limit on how small is too small but if it looks like it just popped out of the mom it's probably a good idea to let it swim and get big. I usually focus on fish 100+

Well the other school of thought is why take a sexually mature fish that is producing and leave the pups that could take 4 to 6 years to start producing? As you say it is each to his own considering there are not regs on them but just seems to be a bit back wards.
